The Spokesman was the original Mobile Bicycle Repair business in Ireland. It was conceived ten years ago, following a course at the Smurfit Business School. It was a low cost start up, it was a growing sector and I was interested in cycling and bikes. When I found out that this model was already successful in the UK, Germany, Holland and the US I decided to go for it.

The idea was to repair bikes for people who cycle to work. Until Covid, I called to locations during the week and repair bicycles while people are working. I still call to peoples homes to repair bicycles for individuals and families. On Sundays, The Spokesman provides a full service at Dun Laoghaire People’s Park farmers MarketCustomers love the service because I repair bicycles quickly. They don’t have to drop bike to a shop and wait days to get their bike back. Because I repair bicycles, The Spokesman also sells new bicycles, accessories.
I sell new bikes under the bike to work scheme. My brands include FUJI, BH and Monty bikes. I also rent road bicycles, so please check my roadbikehire.ie website for more details about road bike hire. I deliver the new bikes to people’s homes or office.

The Spokesman also provides pre-event and on event support for Charity Cycles Peter McVerry, Great Dublin Bike Ride.
